As a 30-year veteran driver from Chicago, I have seen a lot. In my travels as a taxi driver, ambulance chaser, head chaser, repo-man, truck driver, business owner, and general streetwise Chicago punk, I know corruption first-hand. I've been put out of business by corrupt politicians, worked for Chicago Machine Politics, slipped cops bribes on at least a hundred occasions, cheated people out of money in many ways, impersonated a police officer, and spent my young adult years being a general pain in the butt. Of course, I'm not like that anymore. I got married, had a couple of kids, straightened out, became a grandfather, met the Lord and seen the err of my ways. But I still love to tell those stories, the true stories of what it was like growing up and making a living in Chicago. And of course, I'll throw in a few urban legends too.

Submissions Wanted

Attention writers. I just added a blog for this site. It's not your typical blog, where you can just log in and post. But I will be accepting submissions which I will post. Of course, I will give you full credit for your submissions, placing your name prominently on the article, along with any by-line and link you'd like to put there. So far, the only guidelines I have are- keep with the theme and make it a true story or urban legend about road rage, police brutality or corruption. Please send inqiries to info@bigcitydriver.com.

Some of my other work

Those of you who know me, know I've been writing for Ten Four Magazine since 2000, where I publish a lot of articles about trucking. But I have a lot of true stories that aren't exactly, shall we say, politically correct enough to publish in a legitimate, upbeat trucking magazine like that. That's why I have this site. I started it in 2000 as well, but I put all my deep dark true stories from my corrupt upbringing in here.

Although I have had over one hundred articles published, I have yet to get an actual book published. And I have a lot of ideas I am working on. I decided to put one that's done on here for all to read for free. The others are books I'm working on or other things I've done:
