The Trap
He lost sight of the victim and so he drove around the block a few
more times. He decided to drive around the next block, instead. Then the one over from that.
He was just about to give up, when he saw them. He wasn't sure it was them, but there was definitely
a fight happening in the alley and it looked like two guys beating up one guy.
He parked his car around the corner and cut through somebodies back yard. He emerged in the
alley right by the fight. Now he could see that it was them alright. The victim was passed
out and they were still kicking him! His face was bloody and he looked like he might be dead,
but they just kept hitting and kicking him.
"Stop that right now!"
Todd yelled, pointing at them with a cane, as he stepped out of the gate.
"Fuck you old man" one of them said as he rushed toward Todd. "I'll kill you
too." By the time he said that, he was swinging a foot at Todds face.
Todd said "no" as he stepped back and the kick missed.
Then, the
thug through a right hook at Todd. Todd ducked and he hit his helmet. He grabbed his now broken
hand and screamed "aaah!" Then he turned toward his friend looking for some help,
but his friend was still beating the dead man. He must have thought his friend could handle
the old man and never even looked.
While his head was turned, looking at his
friend, Todd pulled his sword out of the cane and sliced his throat. Without making another
sound, he collapsed. Then, Todd ran up to the other thug, who was now on top of the dead man,
going through his pockets and he stuck his sword right through his back. The thug straightened
up a little and looked blankly forward, still unaware of what was happening. Todd pulled it
out and stuck in through again. He turned it, while it was in his back and he moved it in a
circular motion. Then he yanked it out and took off running.
He ran up to
the end of the alley and then casually walked around the corner. He nonchalantly got in his
car and drove off. His adrenaline was pumping. And he felt great. But he also
knew he had to be careful not to get caught.
He went to a secluded area and
changed clothes in his car. Then he went to a gas station and washed up.
He
showed up at work two hours late and Alfred was getting tired of it. "What the hell took
you so long?" He asked.
Todd just kept walking past him as he said "sorry
Alfred, I got here as soon as I could."
That day after work, Todd slept
like a baby for over ten hours. One more day and then Todd would have a weekend off. He figured
he should do all of his killing on weekends from now on, so that it wouldn't interfere with
his job.
He woke up that Friday morning feeling good. What a good feeling
it was. To kill a killer. What a just cause. What a home-run feeling, he thought. I can't wait
to do it again.
