Todd woke up on Saturday morning smiling. It felt good to sleep. It felt even better to awaken, with a purpose. Todd had a purpose now. He knew what he was put on this planet to do. After all, he had nothing to lose. His life was soon to be over, even though he felt as though he was in the best shape of his life.
He rolled out of bed and fell into the push-up position. He pumped up and down about fifty times and he still wasn't tired. He put one hand behind his back and continued to pump out the push-ups, with one hand. He threw himself up in the air and landed on his other hand and continued to pump. It felt good to be strong. He did some sit-ups and then put on his jogging outfit.
When he got to his favorite secluded area in the woods, he began to kick trees. He was getting good at kicking too. He found two trees that were about four feet apart and he jumped up and kicked them both at the same time. He did it again and again. This was getting too easy. He climbed a tall tree and hung from a branch to do some pull-ups. After that, he jumped down and ran home.
He had an idea that would improve his leg strength. He ran upstairs into his bedroom and opened the closet door. There on the shelf, he saw the two bowling balls and smiled. He took them down and grabbed a roll of duct tape. He taped a bowling ball to each foot, so that he could walk on them. He practiced his kicks for a while, with the bowling balls attached. Now he felt it. That was better. It burned his muscles.
For another two months, he continued to work out with the bowling balls. He could now kick over his head. He could even jump up and do a split in the air. He practiced without duct tape too. He could pick up a bowling ball with one foot and toss it up and catch it, without dropping it. He even stood on one ball while holding the other one up with his other foot.
He practiced juggling the bowling balls too. He tossed them up and caught them on the back of his hand, the side of his arm, behind his back and with his feet. Sometimes he would put them in their cases and practice with them that way too. Every exercise, he did while holding a bowling ball. Push-ups with a bowling ball on his back. Sit-ups with a bowling ball on his stomach. Leg-raises with a bowling ball on his legs. He was becoming attached to the bowling balls. He even went bowling and was getting pretty good at it too. He could bowl with either hand, even without putting his fingers in the holes.
He bought a few more bowling balls. He took an old pair of sneakers and duct taped a bowling ball to each one. He laughed to himself when he called them his bowling shoes. He hid them out in the woods each day after kicking some trees with them.    He didn't want anyone to see him like that.
He practiced walking on his hands too. He started out standing on his hands. But after a while he could walk about two blocks. He always did that in the woods too, where nobody could see him. He even walked on his hands while holding a bowling ball with his feet.
